In July 2023, a new luxury hotel will open in the main area of Nagoya. It is called “TIAD, Autograph Collection.”
The Autograph Collection is the Marriott Group’s carefully selected collection brand based on its uniqueness, unique story, and distinctive character and personality. “TIAD, Autograph Collection” will be the fourth property in Japan and the first in the Tokai area.
The building is designed to draw in the greenery of Hisaya-odori Park, which spreads out below the hotel in a nested arrangement of green terraces, and is characterized by a structure that allows visitors to fully experience nature despite its location in the heart of Nagoya.
Guest Room
All of the 150 rooms, including 13 suites, are over 50 square meters in size. This time I stayed in the “Euphoria Premier Twin (City View)” room. Although you cannot see the greenery of Hisaya-odori Park from the room, you can enjoy a view of the Nagoya cityscape.
Room with natural colors and abundant use of natural materials gives a soft and relaxing impression.
The welcome sweets were “Sasaragata,” a famous confectionery of Aichi Prefecture, which were served with tea.
Simple and user-friendly bathrooms.
Breakfast
We had a semi-buffet breakfast at “Table For Tomorrow”, a restaurant with a view of Hisaya-odori Park. You can order your main dish, so I imagine the dishes on the buffet table are mostly side dishes and fruits.
The Wellness Zone
The Wellness Zone, located on the 6th floor of the hotel, offers an indoor pool with a view of the Sakae cityscape, as well as a training gym with state-of-the-art machines, a hot tub area, and a spa. Since the minimum age for use is 16, my husband and I took turns enjoying the facilities.
The wellness lounge offers smoothies, fruits, protein cookies, protein drinks, sports drinks, etc.
The lounge also had a balcony from which I could enjoy a beautiful night view of Hisaya-odori Park. There was no one else there, so I was the only one enjoying the view.
The pool is 18 meters long and 1.2 meters deep, so you can enjoy the night view of Nagoya while swimming in the pool!
During our stay at the hotel, we went to visit the Pokemon Center at Matsuzakaya, a department store across Hisaya-odori Park. Unfortunately, they do not have any goods exclusive to Nagoya, but my daughter, who is Pokemon fan, was overjoyed! She was so happy to get some souvenirs. Matsuzakaya also has Yabaton (miso cutlet) and Atsuta Horaiken (hittu-mabushi) stores, and you can also buy Nagoya gourmet foods at the department store, so I recommend stopping by there.
In fact, Nagoya has never had a luxury hotel of this scale before. Why not make it your new base for sightseeing in Nagoya?
